I’m one week into NaNoWriMo! Three more weeks to go. The last couple of days have been much harder than that glorious weekend writing sessions. And the updated COVID-19 vaccine did affect me more than I expected so still feeling a little fuzzy after being up with a fever for a lot of last night. Hopefully, I’ll be feeling fine after another night’s rest.

It’s so painful to write trash drafts. I just want it instantly to be better, to be how I imagined, to hit the right tone and aesthetic I have in my head. This is . . . not that. Well, maybe parts of it are. I’m making myself just lay down the bones. I’ve got 20K words in the draft, 15,977 of which I’m counting towards NaNo which puts me two days ahead of schedule (thanks to that weekend writing). I think I’m going to need that buffer in the next few days. Tomorrow I’m traveling to Madison and will have more travel through Sunday. Most likely I’ll have to make up some word count the following weekend.

I’m tentatively optimistic about completing the challenge? One day at a time!

With Love,
Natalie
