Door County welcomes me home with warmth and sun and that clean lake air that I’ve never felt anywhere else. I breathe so easily walking around the point, noticing the spring flowers, loving how the sun shines on the bay.

I made my eight-hour drive early today, early enough to get home by mid-afternoon and throw all the windows open. I love being able to turn the HVAC off and have fresh air in the house. There’s a special sweet spot with the perfect temperature and low humidity.

My week ahead is a little daunting — exams, and evening plans, and too-long work to-do lists, and volunteer emails I need to answer. I am definitely in an overcommitted season but I’m cautiously hopeful that balance will change again if I power through this week.

I’ve set myself up the best I can with my laundry done, my home clean, and my cats soaking up my lingering anxiety by cuddling with me on the couch while I do some prep for the workweek and watch a couple How to Train Your Dragon episodes (more accurately it’s Dragons: Riders of Berk — yep, guess I am just going to go all the way through this again . . . February of 2019 I did an intense binge before the final movie).

Typically, I build in a full day at home between travel and a workday. This time the extra day was better spent with my friends, but I do feel like I’ve made the most of my Sunday at home. It was worth the early drive to have as much time as possible to get settled and sink back into my space.

Taking a deep breath for the week ahead.

With Love,

Natalie
