I’ve been rabbit-holing on microlearning content for work a few times in the past week. How do you provide bite-sized pieces of information that people will actually consume and that make an impact? I am not on TikTok but I have found myself googling for specific TikTok videos or YouTube shorts around nonviolent communication, giving feedback, and creating psychological safety to share with colleagues (and specifically managers).
Some I used during the training today, but here was one video I didn’t have time to include that I love and does a good job of quickly demonstrating what nonviolent communication looks like in practice:
If you’re not familiar with Nonviolent Communication I highly recommend learning more about it. It’s based on the book by Marshall B. Rosenberg and there are lots of trainings and resources out there. One of my peers, who I highly respect, is a huge advocate for it and said it changed his whole life when he learned the communication style and embraced it for his professional and personal life. I believe it. He’s one of the most empathetic, clear, nonviolent communicators I know and I just want to be like him when I grow up.
Here’s a short 3-minute video of Marshall B. Rosenberg talking about it.
With Love,
Natalie
