Today felt seasonal, full. We’re manifesting this holiday spirit if it kills us.
I spent the morning and early afternoon writing at the writing center (45,874 words, 92% done with the challenge) before meeting up with my mom. We went shopping uptown (Small Business Saturday) on a hunt for some high-waisted boot-cut jeans for her (success) and picked up some other things along the way.
We moved our shopping trip to Sturgeon Bay to check out Novel Bay Bookstore and a few other shops (also successes, though I managed to just ogle at dice sets and Monopoloy games at The Gnoshery and not actually buy any), before heading to see the latest Disney movie, Wish. The song they’ve used in the trailers has been stuck in my head for the better part of a year. The movie’s not going to make the top of Disney’s greatest hit list, but it was cute and that song is still stuck in my head. And now there’s a reprise that made me cry in the theater. So what more can you ask for?
Afterward, we made our dinner reservations at Cedar Crossing for a glass of wine and chicken risotto and see . . . this all sounds very festive. Shopping and movie and dinner dates. That’s some quality Saturday shit.
Now back to rewatching Shadow and Bone and thinking about Iron Flame.
With Love,
Natalie
