I was in my hometown for my sister-in-law’s baby shower today — I will be an aunt next month! I’m going to be a mess about it, my baby brother having a baby. I sobbed at his graduation and wedding so I’m sure this will be no different.
The shower was Barbie-themed — they are leaving the gender a surprise for everyone (them included) . . . Barbie is just awesome. I wore a sparkly dress and a pink blazer sweater for the occasion and most of the guest dawned pink in Barbie’s honor.
During the shower, we gave name suggestions, opened gifts, and started the betting pool for when the baby will be born. I’m gunning for a Leap Day baby on the 29th next month. I also guessed it would be a boy in the betting pool, but I don’t have a strong intuition.
This a quick overnight trip but I’ll be back in Madison when the baby is born in the next month.
