Plugging along, team. I’m not writing voraciously, but I am writing steadily. The goal is to have a completed draft by the end of this month.
I anticipate a frantic week at the end, but I’ll do my best to minimize the 3,000 words a day corner I backed myself into with the initial trash draft. I’m looking forward to being off of work next week and using some of my extra leisure time to make progress.
In the meantime, here are my last sentences written from the past week:
- 6/25: Then I go to the window, open it all the way, and awkwardly shimmy myself through the opening and onto Cat’s overturned milk crate.
- 6/26: I’m starting to feel like the monster.
- 6/27: I thought about not going home.
- 6/28: Well, at least someone taught you how to throw a punch.
- 6/29: She’s washing dishes in her pajamas
- 6/30: Cat settles back on me, his untrimmed claws piercing me when I shift too fast.
- 7/1: I can feel the fabric start to give under my nails.
With Love,
Natalie
