So much writing this past week! Well, at least 5,900 words worth which is huge progress. After finishing a fresh synopsis last week and getting some feedback from my friends, I’ve been more motivated to write and move the story forward. I started fresh at the beginning of the book, so I’m only three scenes in but I feel excitement and momentum and motivation to get a completed draft out in the next few months . . . I haven’t quite felt that since I worked on my last story drafts in 2019.
Here are my last sentences written from this past week:
- 5/5: It’s there, in the middle of the dawn-lit road, wheezing again with my hands on my knees, that I can name that something else: resolve.
- 5/6: Her running leggings are a deep evergreen.
- 5/7: Get going, Monroe!
- 5/8: “Next time, waffles are on me,” I lie.
- 5/9: The list gets longer as I jog home.
- 5/10: What is insomnia?
- 5/11: I’m already itching to go out on another run, alone, where no one is around to catch me.
With Love,
Natalie
