I am now 34.5K through my revision. Despite missing some writing time this weekend, I believe I’m still on pace. I’ve added a couple of new scenes and have benefited from a few mini-workshops with my writing friends to get me through a few tricky rewrites. For someone who doesn’t like puzzles in general, I do like figuring out how scenes and characters, and emotions collide together. It’s fun to figure out how to solve a problem through story.
I got wrapped up in revising tonight but I’m cutting myself off to get ready for bed. It’s always helpful to start in the middle of a scene anyway so I can carry the momentum from tonight into my writing tomorrow.
Here are my last sentences from this past week:
- 8/11: A long hospital visit later, they’d exchanged numbers and the rest was history.
- 8/12: I need to find some middle ground.
- 8/13: She asks Clarke to water the garden in-between episodes.
- 8/14: Clarke pauses and sets her fork down.
- 8/15:You better hope Loretta doesn’t put this on the actual menu or we’re going to need a shorter name.
- 8/16: And it wasn’t me.
- 8/17: Clarke — goddamn her — has always been a runner who starts fast and stays fast.
With Love,
Natalie
