I’m working through the draft, fixing a few smaller things at first since, once again, the bulk of the rewriting lift will happen in the latter half of the story. It will be mostly new scenes or lengthening scenes, with only a few parts I think I need to scrap. I got to spend some extended time thinking this through over the weekend so I can start shifting my ratio of planning/writing more heavily towards writing.
For fun, here are a few google searches from Sunday that somehow related to writing research:
- Jeff Bezos kids?
- Does CPS let foster kids see relatives?
- English to Spanish translator
- How much do foster parents get paid in Texas?
- Gay movies with happy endings
Okay, that last once I just wanted to stop writing and watch movie. I chose God’s Own Country. Recommend.
Here are my last sentences written from this past week:
- 10/15: But what does that matter?
- 10/16: I have to be there.
- 10/17: Stop — how?”
- 10/18: This time I listen.
- 10/19: They had a dog who barked every time I opened a door.
- 10/20: Though I didn’t miss the “estás loco,” he lobbed at my back.
- 10/21: Since growing up.
With Love,
Natalie
