Staying consistent and staying motivated. Trash drafts are really the worst — I wish I could be editing my crappy scenes rather than pulling them out of nothing but here we are. The detailed synopsis I spent time on last month has done its job so far and so has joining writing accountability with my friends three nights a week. If only it wasn’t more fun to talk about what’s going to happen in the scene than actually writing it . . .
Here are my last sentences written from this past week:
- 5/19: I can still taste the iron on the back of my teeth.
- 5/20: She must’ve turned around the way we came.
- 5/21: If only she stayed quiet.
- 5/22: The hate grows into a wild, untamed thing.
- 5/23: I don’t hear Coach’s shout.
- 5/24: Why I am so surprised that no one is left to protect me?
- 5/25: I don’t know, but maybe Clarke does.
With Love,
Natalie
