I feel so close to getting done with this draft . . . but my word count tells me I have a couple of weeks to go. But I like this part, near the end, just trying to get words on the page as long as I have energy for it. The downside is that it starts to feel like everything else is in the way (you know, like the day job that I do care very much about but 100% wish I could’ve spent the day at the writing center instead).
One of my friends and writing buddies shared her Zero Draft with me last night and I got to read through it today. I have such beautifully talented friends. It’s inspiring.
Anyway . . . here are my last sentences written from this past week (a week in which I wrote 14,315 words, uffda!):
- 7/7: We pass her water-bottle back and forth until it’s empty.
- 7/8: I wanted her to.
- 7/9: Then I start sobbing.
- 7/10: I can’t wait.
- 711:That’s what makes me a sore loser.
- 7/12: Hey Howard, you have a bike, right?
- 7/13: If that’s true, then I have an idea.
With Love,
Natalie
