I’m calling it. This short story (see below sentences) isn’t really doing it for me. I’m ready to jump back into some long form (re)writing.

The plan is to do a complete read-through of my Trash Draft and spend time this week planning/outlining so I can dive into rewrites this weekend. Ideally, I’ll complete in the next two months (I do think there’s going to be a lot a lot a lot of rewriting).

It’s been just over two weeks, but I miss it. I think I needed a deep breath, but any longer and I’m worried I’ll lose some of the momentum I built up in that final push.

Here are my last sentences from this past week:

  • 5/21: Mama cleaned me up backstage while I cried
  • 5/22: Clear alcohol splashes over my converse.
  • 5/23: I need to get out of here.
  • 5/24: The liners were useless.
  • 5/25: The laundry room was empty
  • 5/26: The door clicked closed behind me.
  • 5/27: My foot slipped on discarded underwear.

With Love,

Natalie
