Write On Door County had their annual gala and fundraising event this evening at the Kress Pavillion. I attended with my mom — a lovely and full evening of writing appreciation and wine and food from Thyme.

We got into a bidding war for a private concert with a musician we like, Cathy Grier, and Cathy decided to give both parties the prize. We bought mystery bottles of wine and new swag. I got children’s books from the keynote speaker, Baptiste Paul, to gift to my cousins. We somehow were at the center front table with board members.

There are a lot of incredible nonprofits up here, but I feel lucky all over again that Write On is one of them. Moving to a small community with such investment in writers has been an unexpected blessing. And it’s a good reminder to visit the writing center again — maybe I’ll go hang out this weekend and see if I can capitalize on any creative energy.

With Love,

Natalie
