I pulled a card from Affirmator deck today — some inspiration and intent to start the week. I bought the deck years ago and used to keep it at my office at work, occasionally pulling a card for coworkers to give some positive vibes. It’s been a while since I’ve dusted the deck off, but it really does bring me some joy. The card today was Wonder:
I like how they put it in the card . . . “when something maddening happens”. That word, maddening, gives me a burst of delight in itself. It brings levity to situations that indeed could be frustrating or difficult . . . but calling them maddening makes me want to laugh it off, as the message suggests.
I also like that perspective of being a good audience to our lives. To paying attention, breaking out into applause, getting invested in our story.
Wisdom begins in wonder.
