The winter storm lifts just enough to go for my first run in days. It’s still cold, the roads are icy, but the wind has died down enough to make it manageable. The ice has piled up along the shore and mounds of snow and ice have developed. It’s quite beautiful, really. I was worried about getting too cold but bundled up I was fine and it felt really good to get out in the clean, fresh air again after four days of being cooped up inside. There was even another runner out who I passed twice. ]

Anyway, the moral of the story is that I’m glad I built up some resistance to running in the cold this fall so I’m not afraid of going out on winter days like these. But my eyelashes didn’t even freeze so all is well.

With Love,

Natalie
