We had our company holiday party at work today (all virtual, of course). For us that looked like three different events: trivia, playing Among Us, and cocktail hour. The last group got cocktail kits sent to them and the first two had Grubhub gift cards to get food. I joined one of the Among Us groups (and we did our own happy hour). It’s only my second time playing but I really do love the game. (Winning most of the time also helped . . .) (Am I just really good at video games???)
I still miss the real thing I guess. The company party where I’d dress up and chat in person. But I don’t mind the comfy clothes from home and not having to worry about drinking (for driving of course, but also because I made a rule a couple of years ago that I don’t drink get drunk at company events). Tonight I’m free to drink wine with my mama (who’s coming over for movie night – and bringing Pizza Hut).
It’s been a stressful week, but this was a fun afternoon. And even after all the ‘zoom fatigue’ we complain about, there are still ways to connect and have fun virtually!
