It’s been a good day, and one part of it has been setting the groundwork for a new D&D campaign that kicks offs next weekend. This morning we had round zero where we talked through what our characters knew about each other and the setting and then sent our backstories to the DM. I spent time yesterday evening journaling mine out and I kind of wish I was writing this as a novel but I am pumped to role play it for a campaign.
The setting: 1970s San Francisco. An undercurrent of magic. Urban fantasy.
My character: Reese Monroe. Employed at a law firm that deals in all things powerful and supernatural as an investigator, security, and “fixer”. Her real loyalty, however, lies elsewhere.
Our eclectic group (some hippies, some supernatural hunters, some high-powered lawyers — six of us in in total), will open on a protest outside of the city in the surrounding Redwoods.
It’s got my writing brain churning again. And after all that Fantasy High I watched, I am ready to put my improved D&D understanding to the test.
I hope you all find something to nerd out about this weekend.
With Love,
Natalie
