Once I started a story
About a girl with stardust in her blood
I wrote the beginning
She was in math class
Struck by invisible light
I wrote the ending
She was on a train
A kiss goodbye
A new adventure awaiting

I think of it tonight
All those half started plots
The girl I named Georgia
Who’d never been to Egypt
But died somewhere in the scenes
I never got to
The boy in love with Annabelle
But didn’t deserve her yet
That was for Act Two, unwritten

The oldest story
About a young prince, taken
And a big sister who will find him
Whatever the cost
I told it in my mind
On long car rides
The fortress he was held in
The firelight on her sword
The love for her family
Someday I’ll discover how to tell it

With Love,
Natalie
