Today twenty-nine looks like:
- The morning reading in bed
- The new t-shirt “Keep Calm & Write On”
- The passenger seat all the way up the peninsula with my family
- A wild, windswept ferry ride across Death’s Door
- The way I can’t stop laughing as I see the ferry knocked around in the swells and the cars get splashed
- A very very good burger
- A hidden trail access point in the middle of nowhere
- A trail between two lakes – the big one and the little one
- The jog with my sister-in-law to warm up
- The lavender farm gift shop where I buy:
- Lavender soap
- And a lavender-scented therapeutic neck pillow
- And my mom gives me lavender pillow spray
- And a lavender candle
- A replica of an old Scandinavian church
- I sign my name in the guest book: the date, I was here on this island, today
- A trail through prairie land, naming the wildflowers
- The sun coming out on the ferry ride back, we stand and rock gently and smile
- Cider tasting — brut to aged oak to apple cherry to apple lavender
- Volume 4 of my manga, read cover to cover
- Homemade trailer park macaroni and cheese
- A glass of excellent red wine
- Soaking my chilled core in the hot tub
- Homemade dark chocolate raspberry cheesecake
- With a red candle and a blue candle, they sparkle
- The wish I make
- An evening of relaxing, a good show, a good story
- Another glass of wine
- My family, my family, my family
With Love,
Natalie
