How are we feeling, team?
Overwhelmed. Emotional. Awed. Blessed. Wonderstruck by Taylor’s powerful poetry once again?
Collectively I think we’re all sorting through the gift of 31 new songs, packed with so much punch I can only vaguely point to what’s impacted me the most so far.
I did the original listen-through in the 11 o’clock hour last night. In the kitchen with a glass of whiskey, marveling from song to song. I first cried at loml.
This morning, the double album gift and I managed to listen to everything before my first meeting began. Though why we didn’t just shut down the office today, I’m not sure. The productivity probably would have remained the same.
I teared up at The Prophecy too.
But I don’t even know where to begin I Can Do It With A Broken Heart feels like the song I’ll listen to on repeat the most right now. But Down Bad, The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, But Daddy I Love Him, Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?, Black Dog, Peter and on and on. I need another week to figure this out. I’ve only been through it twice so far.
It certainly feels like quintessential Taylor Swift. Blessings for a beautiful summer ahead.
With Love,
Natalie
