More books than I will realistically read. More clothes than I will realistically wear. I set more alarms that I will need in the morning, but you never know. Prepping for a trip is the only time I clean out my purse. I recharge my iPad and plan for more things to occupy myself than necessary.
It feels like I fly all the time, but I realize it’s been over a year and a half since I’ve been on an airplane. Is that right? Yes. We’ve all lost time. It makes me anxious that maybe I’ve forgotten some part of a previously ingrained routine. ID. Money. Toiletries. Chargers. Shoes you can slip off. Vaccine Card. That’s a new one. KN95 masks.
I set an out-of-office message. I sweep my kitchen floor and write instructions for the cat sitter. I let my mind wander, searching for other things I may need in the next two weeks. The work notebook. The adaptors. The extra headphones. The baseball cap.
Another book. Because why not?
With Love,
Natalie
