Hopefully, in the next twenty-four hours I’ll be back home. That’s the tough part about Hawai’i — it really is very far away from Door County, WI. We’re checking out of our place soon and planning to kill some time in Kona this afternoon before we check in for our flight. We leave at 6 pm HST and land in Chicago at 6 am. CST. I’ll have a few-hour layover before my flight to Green Bay at 9 am.
Fingers crossed that everything goes as planned! Red-eye flights are tough enough without complications but I’ll get home eventually. I’m not a great plane sleeper but hopefully, I’ll get a little rest tonight . . . and I do have my iPad loaded with Netflix shows so at least I’ll be entertained if I can’t sleep.
My parents and I are on the same flight this year though and we got seats next to each other . . . I’m not usually on these flights with my family. It’s so much more comfortable when you’re not sitting next to strangers.
It might be a while before I’m back in Hawai’i — depending on how my parenthood journey works out I’m not planning on bringing an infant over here — so I’m even more grateful for my time this year.
Until next time, Hawai’i.
With Love,
Natalie
