Time, the original thief
We study it with spreadsheets, with timers
Until it shrinks into scarcity
We calendar ourselves into holes
And wonder why weeks last too long
While the evenings blink away

We talk about managing it
Like Time is an employee
Who will bend to our systems
Rather than tick, tick away
Apathetic to the breaths we waste
Questioning how to use it

We invented the clocks
Then spend a lifetime
Trying not to count the seconds

With Love,

Natalie
