I have Thundercloud Subs for lunch two days in a row and it’s heavenly.

Large club on white. Lettuce, tomato, onion. Both cheeses (cheddar and provolone). Thundersauce. A shake of pepper.

I didn’t like vegetables on sandwiches before Thundercloud, but my eyes were opened. I could eat that sandwich every day. I did — or at least a few times each week for a long time. My shop knew my order. I knew most of my coworkers’ orders and would often come back to the office with lunch for people.

The shop near my friends’ house didn’t know my order, but they do recognize me coming in two days in a row. Become a regular, they tell me. I was, I tell them. I moved away so I’m getting my fill now.

Is Thundercloud Subs my favorite part of Austin? No. But also. Maybe? It’s certainly what I crave the most. It was just as much a part of my routine while I lived here as was the Greenbelt, my friends, work, or the Alamo Drafthouse.

Until next time beloved Thundercloud club. No one else does it quite like you.

With Love,

Natalie
