  1. I heat up heat packs in the microwave. It’s a break, under a minute.
  2. I light a candle. Currently Spiced Pumpkin.
  3. I keep Business Bear (my build-a-bear from 2017 I made for work) in my chair with me.
  4. I turn the lamps on. One to my left, one to my right.
  5. I drink something. Sparkling water, Diet Coke, my YETI water bottle — hydration always in reach.
  6. When I get up I lean back with hands over my head to open up my hips. I do ball of foot hops. Or I lift my legs one at a time and make circles with my knee in the air. Small mobility exercises.
  7. I listen to a subliminal focus track on repeat from Nimbuswaves.
  8. I listen to 2000s pop or shuffle Taylor Swift.
  9. I listen to nothing but my keyboard clacking and the waves outside.
  10. I wear slipper socks with cat ears on them. Every day.
