Look, so I read this book and it is now one of my favorites, and god bless my mom for telling me about TJ Klune because everything he writes is fantastic.
The Extraordinaries by TJ Klune is basically a loving, funny tribute to Spider-Man but with canonically queer romance at its center and a protagonist with ADHD. It is laugh out loud, cry out loud, page-turning . . . wish-fulfilling. Damn.
I read a lot of it over the last two nights while I was experiencing some pretty bad insomnia. Who doesn’t love not falling asleep past 3 am two nights in a row? . . . but at least I had a great book to turn to after laying in bed with my intruding thoughts for hours.
I went and picked up the sequel today. The final book comes out next summer.
It was a perfect companion for my Spider-Man brain this week.
