It’s miserable to be outside, but it’s beautiful too
My bootprints to the mailbox and back again
Wet snow on top of snow, and snow, and snow
Ice patterns on my bedroom window like artwork
My balcony covered in a blanket a foot or two high
I’m a month or two early to say goodbye
But I’m ready for uniced pavement
For the changes that spring will bring
And summer and more and more
Stuck in my head in February
Like lingering too long in a cemetery
I start to conjure ghosts
May the sun be out tomorrow
May I want to go say hello
May I shake myself of sorrow
And find more beauty in the snow
With Love,
Natalie
