- For the food. Holy cow can my Mom cook. All the staples, mostly from scratch, served with lefse. Hallelujah.
- For the Euchre tournament we play after pie is served (apple, pecan, pumpkin, vegan pumpkin). I would put it on here even if my team hadn’t won the championship.
- For the waves, whitecapping, fierce, a bracing view as we look out at the bay.
- For good wine, drunk slowly.
- For my family, low drama and loving.
- For the walk we take up the road after dinner. My thighs are cold, but the fresh air breathes life into us.
- For the hot tub afterwards, because my thighs are cold.
- For sharing my adoption plans with my extended family.
- For all the people I love who I’m not with today. My heart is ever full.
- For a whole lot to be grateful for this year.
