I was surprised today. In a way I haven’t been surprised in a long time — have I ever had a surprise party?
My coworkers surprised me with one today to show support for the upcoming adoption. I’ve asked for no congrats yet but they wanted me to know they supported me so I logged into a Zoom call I thought was a 1×1 meeting to find my whole team there with Spider-Man backgrounds and two baby games prepared. It was incredibly thoughtful and kind. And fun!
I was flooded with gratitude. It was just what I needed this week — and I had received a very nice email from expectant mom earlier that morning and that always brings me some peace and joy in all this waiting.
And this evening my mom and I learned how to install the car seat as I get ready for the first leg of the journey this weekend!
