I’ve been able to explore some new hiking spots this spring, with the help of more adventurous friends. I’m very comfortable on my few Barton Creek Greenbelt trails (next to my apartment and my office) for daily hiking or running, but the last month I’ve been on three new trails.

I talked about Enchanted Rock already in a previous post, but today and last weekend I went on two (new to me) trails in Austin: Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park and St. Edward’s Park & Trail.

Austin has so much green space available that it’s easy to get out on a trail and rarely see another soul. This morning on the St. Edward’s trail we found it uncrowded and peaceful, weaving through the tall foliage and stopping to admire the scenic creek.

And the wildflowers. Always the wildflowers,

wildflowers

An hour and a half talking and sweating and enjoying the outdoors with a friend is the perfect way to start the day. Stopping for brunch afterward doesn’t hurt either.

With Love,

Natalie
