A normal summer Saturday. One where I spend a lazy morning in bed, sleeping in after a night with friends. My mom and I spend much of the day together starting with lunch at Big Easy. an afternoon walk, and finally attending a Peninsula Players production in the evening.
I had a burst of errand energy after lunch and headed to Sturgeon Bay in search of a wall mirror and more comfortable desk chair for my guest room — mission accomplished on both fronts. Plus some grocery shopping and the inevitable random items you pick up when you enter a Target. I listened to How to Be Perfect by Michael Shur and enjoyed the easy driving in the sunshine.
The play tonight at Peninsula Players was Write Me A Murder — it was entertaining and often funny and featured writers — always fun. We stopped for ice cream on the way (a waffle cone of peanut butter cookie dough, heavenly). It was a gorgeous night. I have so many memories of attending plays at Peninsula Players over the years. It used to be the fancy night of the week-long vacation. Jenna and I would get all dolled up for the play. So I put on a dress and lipstick tonight in memory.
I’ve been tired today on the whole — it’s been a long past month — but today was perfect in its summer normalcy. Taking the day as it comes. Following whims. Attending summer theater. Unhurried all day. I hope tomorrow brings much of the same.
With Love,
Natalie
