Look, sometimes you just need to get out of the house and go out for dinner. My mom and I went to a new restaurant, Stone Hedge Pub & Golf . . . which is exactly what it sounds like. It’s pretty slim pickings on a Thursday night in the off-season here, but this place was quite good! We’ll go back for sure. And it’s quiet, which suited us perfectly — the word hasn’t quite gotten out to the locals yet.

It’s a small thing, but it feels good to have a turkey sandwich, a beer, and a conversation. Casual, comfy, normal. I love it.

I don’t need grand plans to look forward to. I need simple things like this. A dinner out. Friday pizza, movie, and wine plans. I like having big things on the horizon (I crave them, and I get anxious sometimes), but my heart rests in quieter places. Ending today’s run at the dock, as always. Taking a hot bath in the evening. Reading a good book in bed.

With Love,

Natalie
