Yes, that title did need to be in all caps. Because the soundtrack to Steven Universe DEVASTATED me.

This is officially a niche post but I can’t get it out of my head. This blog = what’s in my head. Sue me.

I knew how ruined I was when I first heard “It’s over, isn’t it?” midway through the show. Maybe you need show context for this, but even without it I hope you feel the depth — of love when it gets messy.

From “I was fine when you came / and we fought like it was all some silly game / over her, who she’d choose / after all those years, I never thought I’d lose.”

To “You won, and she chose you / and she love you / and she’s gone / it’s over, isn’t it? / why can’t I move on?”

I cried very hard. To be fair, that particular night there was a little whiskey involved. But it holds up in the light of day.

And that is one song of a dozen or more that I could say have now been running through my head all day.

Will you ever feel move empowered after listening to “Stronger Than You”? I felt pretty great dancing in the kitchen to it this evening.

Anyway, this is a double endorsement for the show that it’d be worth watching just for the music.

This show, team.

With Love,

Natalie
