Saturday started with no plans and unfolded in chapters. The morning walk that, midway through, turned into walking to town for brunch. The library trip and grocery store run turned into me stocking up on a few extra essentials for summer visitors.

The afternoon momentum turned into four hours of cleaning, beginning with a deep cleaning of my shower. Remember the bath bomb incident last year? Well, we never really recovered and my arms were sore from scrubbing by the end. I continued deep cleaning from there, and by four o’clock both bathrooms were done, the sheets were washed, and the floor vacuumed. And I listened to half of a new audiobook (Unbound by Tarana Burke) in the process.

The spontaneity continued in finding out a new pizza place had opened in the brewery uptown and I went with my parents for an early dinner. It was delicious.

For a day that started with no plans and could have easily been a do-nothing tv or reading day, it turned into one with two meals out, a great walk, and a productive spring cleaning afternoon. I do like my do-nothing tv or readings day, but the sense of accomplishment today makes me feel like I can truly relax going into the evening and tomorrow.

And I’m really glad I cleaned my shower thoroughly. One full year later. What can I say, I get there eventually.

With Love,

Natalie
