I’m going to take a break from my personal social media accounts. Not a complete embargo, but at least deleting the apps off my phone and consciously stepping away. I’ve known I needed a reset for a while now — the mindless scrolling through fandom Instagram is very reminiscent of college me with Tumblr — but it’s been hard to give up the distraction. This is my public accountability.

I’ve done well with limited social media time in the past and though I might not have a play-by-play update on the news, it doesn’t mean I need to be out of touch. More often than not social media leaves me feeling exhausted. Like I’ve wasted my time. I’m not really contributing there. I could be writing or reading or going for a walk or really anything else that brings me real joy.

So, a self-imposed break. I know how much I need one by the anxiety of writing this. (Should I check everything now just in case I missed something???). Yeah, I have better things to focus my thoughts on than company-manufactured FOMO.

With Love,

Natalie
