A fucking marvel, really. 8 episodes, 8 hours and so, so much that happened. 100% worth taking the day off to binge-watch with my friends.

There will be another rewatch very soon.

I don’t know how to write about Shadow & Bone without giving anything away, but I will say, as someone who’s read the books that it’s based on, that the show is both true to the characters and story while still being creative and surprising and blending multiple series in a way that was extremely satisfying.

Waiting for what I guess will be another two years for the next season is going to be torture. They set up plot lines covered in the books that I am very interested in exploring and are going off-script in some key areas that I think will work really well for this adaptation.

Okay, but I would just watch the Wylan and Jesper parts over and over. I had no idea they were going to give us so much, so early and so much more than we get in the books in the best way possible.

I know this makes little sense to anyone not familiar with the books or the show (though this is a note for people who may not have read the King of Scars duology to get on that because it’s becoming relevant).

God dammit it was so good. I wanted it to keep going forever. What a beautiful, head-spinning day.

With Love,

Natalie
