It’s been a spell since I’ve intentionally practiced gratitude. So on this lovely Saturday, I want to say some thank yous:
- To my Spider-Man boxer briefs, I would wear you everywhere
- To free chicken biscuit sandwiches
- To the bops of TSwift that have me dancing for two days straight
- To local friends who show up at a kids fundraiser event to chat and walk around the park with me early on Saturday morning
- To a best friend who I catch up with for an hour while she drives home and I clean my apartment
- To public libraries
- To really good chocolate chip cookies
- To leftover pizza
- To Diet Coke
- To the cashier who took my order and when I said “The Flash is the Spider-Man of the DC universe” he said “Someone gets it!” and I fell in love a little bit
- To hours to write and rewrite and be exhausted and energized, wave after wave
- To burning candles
- To the hard-earned happiness and routines that grounded me through a tough work week
- To the coworkers who got last minute beers with me and let me wax poetic about my love for my family
- To my family, to my family, to my family
- To Merlin, who sits on my lap while I write
- To Arthur, who demands cuddles when I’m done
- To my mentor who catches up with me over coffee and breakfast tacos
- To Jenny, for sharing her adoption story
- To gratitude that comes easy
With Love,
Natalie
