My last day in Austin and I took PTO . . . it feels like the first day off in two weeks with working through last weekend. I’m exhausted, team, but today was the right pace. I had breakfast with a friend and then I met a couple of other friends/coworkers to go down to Salt Lick in Driftwood to get barbeque. The best barbecue. Turkey and brisket and potato salad and brown beans . . . the whole shebang.
After we went to a brewery to chat and play a couple of lowkey bar games. On a Friday afternoon, it was mostly empty and the overcast sky meant it was lovely to sit outside without it getting too hot.

I’m on my own this evening, resting and watching my show before I get up early for my flight (the friends I’m staying with had to leave for a wedding this weekend so I’m housesitting for the night). And yes, I got Thundercloud again.
It was a good, relatively low-key day with people I love . . . but also I am really ready to be home. It’s been a long week and my brain needs some time to step away from work and let everything land. Here’s to smooth travels tomorrow.
With Love,
Natalie
