It’s more feeling
Than memory
The familiarly
Of a couch, a sweater
Cereal, it’s dark out
The TV’s on

For a moment I am fourteen again
Watching Avatar
Crying
At how twisted up
Zuko is inside
And how twisted up
I used to feel too

Used to
The pressure in my eyes
Turns from sadness
To plain emotion
Roku says
Some friendships
Are so strong
They can even transcend
Lifetimes

It is memory
Or something further back
That stirs me
When I hear this

Arthur curls to my chest
And we sink into each other
Zuko warring with his destiny
Me, forging mine, on the couch,
One quiet night at a time

With Love,
Natalie
