I’m back home this evening! I made the eight hour drive back from Des Moines in good time, arriving in Egg Harbor before 2:30. I never thought I’d be okay with longer drives like that, but I don’t mind anymore. I even look forward to an element of it — a good audiobook makes the day go by quickly. Today I listened to The Foxhole Court by Nora Sakavic, the first in a trilogy I’ve read three times already but I’ve never done the audio. At just under eight hours, it was the perfect length and I downloaded book two this afternoon to keep me company on a blustery winter run before sundown.

Another nice thing about making good time is that I had opportunity and energy to have dinner with my parents before they both leave for the week early tomorrow morning. We checked out Stone Hedge again and it was as excellent as the first time and just the right vibe for a casual meal. The nice thing about eating with my parents is that I’m back home for the evening by six thirty, giving me time to catch up on Miraculous Ladybug and contemplate a movie for tonight (I read The School for Good and Evil this week and the Netflix adaptation was recently released).

Tomorrow — no plans yet, besides the plan to make sure my life is in order for the week ahead. Groceries. Working up my courage to check my work email before Monday morning. But hopefully mostly reading. Another run. Maybe going to the movies. This is the beauty about always planning in a full day at home between travel and workdays — there is time to settle into life and routine again.

Now go catch up on Ladybug everyone so you can scream with me about this week’s episode.

With Love,

Natalie
