The day after Thanksgiving is a rest day I planned it that way in my running schedule this week and the day follows an easy cadence. Morning television. Leftovers for lunch. I tidy, do laundry, and pull out my scant holiday decorations while listening to a D&D podcast (Adventuring Academy).

I am far from the most festive person on the block when it comes to holiday cheer but I also like finding excuses to celebrate and introduce small changes to the passing of the seasons. I don’t unwrap all my Barbie ornaments with the same slow nostalgia I used to but I still put them on the tree and hang Spider-Man at the top like the star he is. With a warm apple pie candle burning, it’s all very festive.

I haven’t participated in any Black Friday shopping. Well, not yet. I am going to stop by a local boutique before they close this evening before I pick up my race packet for tomorrow (I’m doing a 2.62-mile “mini marathon” fun run in town). There’s also a Christkindlmarkt happening in Sister Bay that I’d like to check out but it might be too much to fit in this weekend.

I’m more interested in rest and rejuvenation than overplanning the next couple of days. There will be the run tomorrow morning. Finally going to try to make it to Black Panther on Sunday before D&D that night. Tonight, catching up with my best friend. In between it all I’ll be rewatching The Dragon Prince (so I can watch the newest season). Plenty to be grateful for.

Now to just take a peek at that shop . . . they do have everything 30% off today . . .

With Love,
Natalie
