Power, grounded in my heels
Hardening beneath my skin
It vibrates slowly and when I look closer
Endlessly
Anything, anything, anything
It says
Just begin

I don’t realize how strong my bones have grown
Until a hammer tries to shatter them
And clatters uselessly away
I shake, awake, and it’s power
In my very cells
Endless
If I look

I have drawn it from the bathroom tiles
Weeping and starkly alone
I have drawn it from the whiskey bottles
Emptied in me and then in the sink
I have drawn it from the unchanging guard
Who stood over me when I was blind
I have drawn it in and watched it charge
I’m electricity, electricity, electricity
Look, look, look
