Oh, O’Hare
Another eight hours with you
Tucked away at a dining area table
The Great American Bagel – turkey on cheddar herb
Nursing a Diet Pepsi for hours (I know, the disappointment)
Then moving to the end of a terminal
Where it’s quieter, where there’s a window
Where I find some light and some outlets

Oh, O’Hare
It won’t be the last time we meet like this
You make me that promise every year
Every on-time flight comes with a wink
A brief repose where I can zoom through your halls
Until you call me back
And ask me to stay awhile

With Love,

Natalie
