I tossed a couple more queries over the fence this evening . . . my current thinking is to have 10 “active” at all times (read between the lines there) . . . and one agent asked for something kind of fun, a mood/aesthetic board for the story (if we had it). Well, I didn’t, but that seemed like a fun way to waste a half-hour so for my very unproductive writing update this week, here’s my current story’s Pinterest aesthetic board.

Does that count as writing?

No, definitely not. But my still jet-lagged brain enjoyed the phantom productivity anyway. It’s even thinking about making one for my next book (the cross country rivals to lovers one) instead of, you know, writing it.

Here’s what images my brain conjures for this (untitled) story right now:

  • A team huddle in the middle of a field, heads down, arms over shoulders
  • Well worn running shoes on a forest trail
  • Lips pressed against another’s wrist
  • A very steep hill
  • Skinned knees
  • Ice bath (for two?)
  • A piggyback ride through a school hallway
  • Girls kissing
  • A golden retriever
  • An overflowing pot of spaghetti

With Love,
