The eastern shore, calm
We take off our shoes, our socks
And wade into the water
And then sit on the beach
Sand and rocks beneath us
To let our feet dry in the sun
We hike around a peninsula
Masks on, masks off
As we pass the few other people
Who’ve ventured North today
We cut in to spot after spot along the shore
Imagining that we could stay there all day
There is more to life than
Sun, water, trees, movement
But not much
There is more to life than
Good meals, good friends, a good day
But not much
With Love,
Natalie
