I technically finished NaNoWriMo on Monday, but I had a goal to write every day in November as part of the challenge so today was the official last day. I wrote a little less the last few days, but I’m finishing out November at 51,687 words out of the 50K word goal.
I also really wanted to get all those badges that I could. I’m a sucker for a badge and the last one I could attain was the badge for updating your word count every day this month. The one I missed — “Achieve Daily Par Every Day”. That would have meant writing at least 1,667 words each day and I was a little too inconsistent for that. I did the majority of my writing during the weekends to buffer my writing sessions on workdays.
Looking through my dashboard, I can also see my daily word count in charts. The one below illustrates the weekend writing pretty well. Those 3K and 4K days made up a lot of ground. During the week it looks like I stayed between 1K and 2K, with only a few days below 1K (like the last three days this week!).
Along with updating my word count, I updated where I wrote — and despite all that time at the writing center most days I was at home (though the options weren’t unlimited, so some of those ‘at home’ days were also in a hotel room or at my brother’s house). And with my final word count in I averaged 1,722 words per day.
Lastly, you could report your mood when updating your word count. How did you feel during the writing session? And on average I felt pretty good! I’ll take it!
With Love,
Natalie
