Here’s an idyllic picture:
Sunday afternoon. Rainy with high winds that make the waves rise and crash on the shore. I can see it from my window. A fire in the fireplace and me, sitting beside it. I have my notebook and pen and I am thinking and outlining and writing as a couple of hours go by.
When it’s done I grab a book, an old favorite, and read on the couch while the fire goes down. Now I only hear the crackling of the logs and, though I can no longer see the lake, the wind gusting across it.
It’s a blessing, days like this. When the chores are already done and the professional obligations can wait and you can just create and be and tap into that passion that can get lost in long workweeks and tough news cycles. More of this, I think. I want more of this.
With Love,
Natalie
