It’s my mom’s birthday today! With my dad at work, we spent the whole day together in what turned out to be a pretty packed (and excellent) agenda, including:
- Carry out brunch from Big Easy
- My gift to my mom: matching T-shirts (“Camp Half-Blood” T-shirts from the Percy Jackson books, which she’s also reading)
- Stopping for cookies and truffles at the local bakery
- A walk in a new area (to me) near Sister Bay
- Some impromptu shopping at a few of local stores
- Another bakery, more cookies (my mama loves bakeries)
- Another walk closer to home
- Hot tub time
- We’ve just ordered pizza . . .
- Tonight: pizza, a few drinks, and a movie at my place
I’ve had a lot of fun . . . and I think she has too! We spent her birthday together last year together too when she came down to Texas to see me run my half-marathon in San Antonio. Just a week before everything shut down . . . I’m lucky after a year we can still spend her birthday together in a completely different context.
Happy Birthday, Mom!
With Love,
Natalie
