I’m in Iowa today! I left my brother’s in Madison early this morning to arrive in Des Moines before noon. I’ll be at Lin and Cara’s for the rest of the week, in part to celebrate Lin’s 30th birthday on Thursday. It’ll be part hang out, part working remotely, all good friendship time.
We are also watching The Haunting of Bly Manor . . . a show I definitely can’t watch alone but in the tradition of a Halloween-ish visit (last year we watched The Haunting of Hill House which only traumatizes me every couple of weeks as I try to fall asleep).
I expect there will be a mix of wine nights and good talks and easy, unstructured time just being together this week. That’s the best part of good friends. No performances. Just love.
Tonight: cheese board for dinner, paired with a red wine called “Prayers for Sinners.”
