One of my coworkers (and my mentee!) is doing a presentation for his engineering team on imposter syndrome tomorrow and asked me to review it. It’s a good reminder that this is something the majority of people experience in their careers — that feeling that we somehow haven’t earned our accomplishments and we’ve tricked everybody into believing we’re smarter / more deserving than we are. Story of my life most days. Starting with that I’m supposedly a mentor for someone I respect a ton and who could easily be my mentor.

I gave him this resource from Ted that I thought was a great short video about imposter syndrome and what to do about it:

Spoiler: we all just have to talk about it with one another instead of staying in a silent shame spiral.

Bring it into the light, folks. We’re not alone.

With Love,
Natalie
